Hi everyone!
I’m Scott, and if you’ve been listening to THE BURNING TRUTH for the past 14 weeks, you’ll know me as one-half of the hosting duo. I thought it was about time I introduced myself properly and shared a little bit about my journey to becoming part of this podcast.
Wrestling has been a massive part of my life for as long as I can remember. The moment it all started for me was in 1999, watching Stone Cold Steve Austin driving a beer truck into the arena and soaking Vince, Shane, and The Rock. From that point on, I was hooked. Not long after, I watched my first-ever wrestling pay-per-view, WrestleMania XV, and it absolutely blew me away. To this day, it’s still my favourite WrestleMania—full of moments that defined my early love for wrestling.
For years, I dreamed about starting my own podcast, but like many ideas, it always sat on the back burner. Then earlier this year, I had a conversation with Matt Burns, who originally hosted THE BURNING TRUTH. What started as a casual chat quickly turned into a full-blown plan to bring the podcast back, and by the summer, we’d regenerated it into something fresh and exciting.
Matt and I wanted to create a show that’s fun, different, and packed with segments that keep you coming back for more. From Buried Alive (our take on wrestling’s Room 101) to Top 3 (where we rank the best and worst in wrestling) and Rebook This (a love letter to fantasy booking), everything we do is designed to celebrate what makes wrestling brilliant—and have a laugh while we’re at it.
But THE BURNING TRUTH isn’t just a podcast anymore. Over the last few months, we’ve expanded onto YouTube and TikTok, experimenting with live reactions to NXT shows, prediction videos, and plenty of creative content. The response so far has been amazing, and it’s only the beginning. With the end of the year fast approaching, we’ve got some brilliant special episodes planned, including year-end reviews and some surprises we think you’ll love.
For me, THE BURNING TRUTH is more than a podcast—it’s a passion project. I want it to be a place where wrestling fans of all types can come together. Whether you’re someone who loves dissecting every storyline or just enjoys a bit of nostalgia, there’s something here for you. And with Matt and I at the helm, we’re constantly working to make this podcast something you’ll look forward to every week.
At the end of the day, I’m just Scott Barratt. I’m just a wrestling fan who loves talking wrestling. I’m just the new co-host of THE BURNING TRUTH… and I’m just getting started!
