So Ladies and Gentlemen we at the burning truth (if you haven’t noticed already) swear a lot! We literally have next to zero filters when it comes to analysing our thoughts on the WWE or anything wrestling related, also we certainly don’t mince our words when it comes to our own thoughts regarding subjects we are very passionate about.
That being said it is 2020 or the end of 2020 and it has been one the worst, if not the worst year for our beloved wrestling industry since good old Vinny Mac decided it would be a great idea to have Edge and Lita fuck live in front of thousands of fans, or have poor Trish Stratus bark like a dog and strip (oh my god Vince please stop smoking crack).
Upon reading that you’re probably wondering what has that got to do with cussing, well allow me to explain. Never have I ever been so pissed off by the WWE this year since good old Vinny Macs brain fart years, I mean seriously all the missed opportunities the WWE has had this year alone, outweighs the 5 years previous for me. You’d think with the uprising of Cody Rhodes and AEW that Vince would think 💭 well there is a market out there still for the modern-day Rocks and Stone Colds of wrestling.
I look at both the men’s and women’s divisions, wrestlers such as Otis, Kevin Owens, Mandy Rose, Nia Jax, Rhea Ripley, Lana, Seth Rollins, Shayna Baszler, Roman Reigns, Drew McIntyre, and many more so far having watched them blossom over the previous few weeks, I see so much potential to be had right there, I can’t help but feel if wrestlers like these were given the creative freedom which the likes of AEW offer they would become megastars.
What is all the CUSS about? well it’s the restraints that are put on WWE superstars and the scripts they are given by a creative team that I wouldn’t even entrust in writing a heartfelt speech for me to give at my uncles funeral on Monday, hence why I swing towards AEW and their ability to put on great matches and cut brilliant promos.
I hope the WWE start to distance themselves from this PG era bullshit as for me growing up I had no issues watching the then WWF/WWE/WCW & ECW I didn’t go away thinking I should call my elders an asshole or a piece of crap because of wrestling, yes there was a lot of controversy surrounding certain storylines but the argument here is like the whole Trish debacle she actually had an outstanding storyline where she got her revenge at Wrestlemania 17 and her career afterward was legendary and she is and always will be highly relevant with regards to women’s wrestling.
